Meet Gia
Gia’s journey began in June 2023, when we received news about an injured dog found in a village schoolyard. When one of our dedicated pension owners arrived, they discovered a helpless 10-day-old puppy struggling to survive. That tiny puppy was Gia.
She was taken to safety and carefully bottle-fed, but her battle wasn’t over—she developed pneumonia, and for a time, we weren’t sure if she would make it. But Gia proved to be a fighter.
Gia has grown into a beautiful, good-natured, and healthy young dog. As a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) mix, she is starting to show the wonderful characteristics of the breed—energetic, intelligent, and affectionate. She loves running and playing with other dogs, and while she can be a little shy at first, she quickly warms up, as our trustees saw during their visit in October. Within minutes, she was happily soaking up all the cuddles and affection.
Gia has been tested around cats, is fully vaccinated and spayed, and is now in UK foster care in Dorset. She is settling in beautifully, making friends with the resident dog, enjoying cuddles, and already learning basic commands like sitting and waiting patiently for her food.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
