  • About

Josie is one of the three sisters found in Zeleznik where they were hiding in an area away from the street. Sadly, she was the only surviving puppy of the three siblings.

Josie was living with her mother, grandmother and one male, but as she grew she became a mom herself.  All of her puppies were removed by locals. We have no idea what happened to them.

Josie is now around 4.5 years old and loves her cuddles with humans! She is good with other dogs but, as an old soul, she can get a bit fed up with very bouncy, pushy dogs.  She deserves a family of her own where she can get lots of love.  Please consider this lovely lady who is so pretty and deserving.

All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).

Josie tested positive for Heartworm on routine testing and is currently undergoing treatment. She will be able to travel to the UK after two negative Heartworm control tests have been achieved and a scan to check there is no last damage.

Heartworm is fairly common in Serbia and many dogs recover in full if caught early enough and dogs can lead full and normal lives. Heartworm is not generally well known in the UK but there are plenty of articles online and a useful video within the video library on our website here

Josie has tested positive on a routine screening test for Anaplasmosis, this is a fairly common tick- borne disease prevalent in countries such as the Balkans, it is treated with a course of 30 days of antibiotics which is sufficient according to vet advice received. He does not show any symptoms of Anaplasmosis and has received his 30 day course of treatment.

This is a useful information sheet on Anaplasmosis
