Meet Keira
Keira was spotted by one of our rescuers, she had been abandoned to the street and she had an injury, possibly from being hit by a car.
She was taken to the vet and X-rays showed a fractured hip- Keira has since had a femoral head osteotomy that was funded by one of our very young BU ambassadors after she gifted a donation from her grandparents to pay for Keira’s surgery, she was then named by the lovely Amelia.
Keira is now well on the way to recovery and ready to find her forever home. She is medium to large in size and we think she is a lab mix.
Keira gets on well with the other dogs in the pension and is a firm favourite of the pension owners son who loves to play with her.
She is fully vaccinated and spayed and is expected to be normally abled despite her surgery, but it is a possibility she may get arthritis in the future and will benefit from general joint supplements. Hydrotherapy could also help her in her later years, but thats many years in the future for this young girl.
Full X-rays and vet report can be supplied to any future adopter for the vets to review.
Keira really is a wonderful dog and would make a great family addition.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
