Meet Thelma
Meet beautiful girl Thelma. She and her sister Louise (who has already found her forever home) were found as young pups living on a construction site. They were being fed and were relatively safe until the people started moving into the houses. They didn’t want stray dogs hanging around and so Thelma and Louise had to be moved to safety.
Thelma is a Ridgeback mix so relatively large - she's the slightly larger sibling and is a little more confident than her sister. She loves humans once she gets to know them - she loves cuddles from adults and children alike.
She is spayed and neutered and good with other dogs.
UK foster update
Thelma arrived to her UK foster home in November 2025. Thelma’s UK fosters are an incredible family with five dogs of their own, who have taken in multiple BU dogs whilst we search for their forever homes. Thelma is currently in Birmingham, but BU will arrange transport in the UK upon successful adoption.
Thelma has been introduced to the fosters very savvy pack of dogs and has been submissive and respectful to the resident dogs. The foster home also has cats - whilst Thelma has been curious of them, it is too early in her integration to confirm if she is cat friendly.
Thelma is a gentle and intelligent girl - who enjoys a fuss but is equally an independent dog, who is quite happy to take herself away for a lie down/quiet time. Thelma has quickly learned (within hours!) to signal to be let out to do her business - no accidents inside yet - a lovely, clean girl Thelma is a big fan of her crate, she seems to feel secure and is sleeping through the night in the crate with the door open.
So far, she has been a complete dream - and quite frankly, if nobody snaps her up soon, she might become this foster’s sixth dog! Further updates to come - please get in touch if you have any questions.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
