Meet Vanja
Vanja was found along with eight other dogs in the garden of a lady who had sadly died. She is a calm dog who loves people - look at her smiley face when she is getting tummy rubs!
She can be a little dominant with other dogs so she’s probably best as an only dog. But this will also mean she can get more cuddles which she is very happy about.
Vanja tested positive for heart worm on routine testing however she is now heartworm free following treatment. She will be able to travel to the UK after two negative heartworm control tests have been achieved and a scan to check no lasting damage.
Heartworm is fairly common in Serbia and many dogs recover in full if caught early enough and dogs can lead full and normal lives. Heartworm is not generally well known in the UK, but there are plenty of articles online and a useful video within the video library on our website which can be found here.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
