What we do
Balkan Underdogs is a not for profit UK registered charity made up of volunteers dedicated to helping the street dogs and cats in the Balkans. We are proud to be a charity that, not only rescues and re-homes dogs and cats into the UK, we also run several incredibly successful spay and neuter clinics across Serbia, offering free spay and neuter to locals and rescuers for street strays. To date by June 2021 we are about to reach 2700 neutering operations meaning thousands upon thousands of puppies and kittens will not be born to suffer and die needlessly. You can find out more about our Spay & Neuter Campaign here.
We also work with the Government pound in Cacak, Serbia to help improve conditions and make life bearable for the 200 plus dogs in the pound. Our re-homing process enables us to find loving homes in the UK for some of these lost souls. Through our Pound appeal, during the last year BU has provided wooden shelters, straw, feeding troughs throughout the pound, urgent medical treatment, regular vaccines and we top up the food each week to ensure all dogs are fed and as comfortable as we can make them.
