Rescuer Balkan Underdogs Serbia Pound dog

Founded in 2012, Balkan Underdogs is a registered not for profit charity run solely by volunteers dedicated to helping the neglected dogs of the Balkans.

There is a UK based team made up of the trustees and volunteers. These volunteers help to spread awareness, raise funds, perform home-checks and assist with the adoption process.

In the Balkans, we rely on our team of volunteers to locate, feed and rescue the unfortunate souls who end up on the streets. These volunteers run the kennels and are a fundamental part of our organisation.

The Trustees

Balkan Underdogs is managed by a team of trustees, who hold overall responsibility for the charity's finances, and for developing programmes such as the Spay & Neuter Campaign and the Pound Appeal.

The following Trustees can be contacted here:

  • Caroline manages  sponsorship, microchip registration, and insurance.

  • Karen is our rescue liaison manager.

  • Kev is the charity's Treasurer.

  •  Libby manages adoptions & the foster network.

  • Sandra assists with finance and provides a much needed translation guide.

  • Tracy manages the Spay and Neuter Project in Serbia, and manages the  logistics of adopted dogs travelling to the UK

The trustees are supported by an amazing admin team who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Our hands on team volunteer their time to assist with rescue, home checks, marketing and social media promotions, adoption enquiries, vet liaison, post-adoption  follow up and advice, fundraising and merchandise, newsletter production and website management.  If you would like to join us as a volunteer please get in touch!
