Meet Maxine
Maxine is a beautiful medium sized girl with the gentlest nature and the most soulful eyes. She and her sister were abandoned as tiny puppies beside a supermarket. Their rescuer began feeding them there, watching over them as they slowly grew. Then one day, Maxine’s sister disappeared, leaving her all alone. Not long afterwards, Maxine became seriously ill with parvovirus. Her rescuer moved her into an abandoned yard where she could be safely isolated, and cared for her there for a month. Thankfully, this brave little girl made a full recovery and was eventually able to be around other dogs again.
Maxine is a wonderfully mild and gentle dog. She is good with other dogs and, although she can initially be shy with people, she enjoys being stroked and is so happy when someone shows her kindness. She lived peacefully among cats while she was on the streets. A further cat test will be carried out soon so that we can understand how she behaves around them now. Maxine has not yet been tested with children.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
