Our Story
Founded in 2012, Balkan Underdogs is a registered not-for-profit charity run solely by volunteers dedicated to helping the neglected dogs of the Balkans.
There is a UK-based team made up of trustees and volunteers. These volunteers help to spread awareness, raise funds, perform home checks and assist with the adoption process.
In the Balkans, we rely on our team of volunteers to locate, feed, and rescue the unfortunate souls who end up on the streets. These volunteers run the kennels and are a fundamental part of our organisation.
Balkan Underdogs is managed by a team of trustees, who hold overall responsibility for the charity's finances, and for developing programmes such as the Spay & Neuter Campaign and the Pound Project.
Our Trustees can be contacted here.
The trustees are supported by an amazing admin team who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Our hands-on team volunteer their time to assist with rescue, home checks, marketing and social media promotions, adoption enquiries, vet liaison, post-adoption follow-up and advice, fundraising and merchandise, and website management. If you would like to join us as a volunteer please get in touch!
