Meet Ellie
Smart and loyal Ellie appeared on the streets of our rescuer's hometown in the autumn of 2025. She couldn't seem to find her way around and was disoriented and afraid of people. After a while Ellie started following the street cleaners and they helped our rescuer to catch her so that she could be taken for spaying. It turned out that she had already passed the Spay Neuter Release program in another city and had been released back to a strange city where she did not know how to fend for herself. Our rescuer, reluctant to leave her on the street, managed to find a lovely sponsor to keep Ellie safe in a dog pension until she can find her forever home.
Ellie has started to trust people again and to socialise with other dogs. She is a good natured, medium sized dog with beautiful eyes who loves to be cuddled and receive attention. Ellie is not yet tested with cats and with young children.
Ellie is vaccinated and spayed.
Ellie tested positive on a routine screening test for anaplasmosis. This is a fairly common tick-borne disease prevalent in countries such as the Balkans. It is treated with a 30 day course of antibiotics which is sufficient according to vet advice received. They do not show any symptoms of anaplasmosis and has received her 30 day course of antibiotics. This is a useful information sheet on anaplasmosis.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
