Meet Gabi
Gabi is a gorgeous little whose story began in January 2026, when she and her sister Looby were found living beside a river in bitterly cold weather. They had been dumped and were both extremely frightened, so their rescuer provided food and shelter while patiently trying to gain their trust. Then Gabi disappeared. When she was eventually seen again, she had given birth to puppies, but heartbreakingly, they had been killed by traffic on a nearby bridge. Gabi remained beside them at the roadside, watching over them. When her rescuer came to bury her babies, Gabi finally approached and allowed herself to be taken to safety. Gabi is now living safely in a foster home and is housetrained. As with any rescue dog, she may initially have a few accidents while adjusting to a new home and routine.
Despite everything she has endured, Gabi is an extremely clever, cheerful and affectionate little dog. She loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs and is always ready for a game with a ball or her other toys. Gabi’s rescuer thinks she may have a little terrier in her. She has a wonderful sense of smell and loves exploring, investigating and digging through fallen leaves. She would be an ideal companion for a family who enjoys walking and spending time in nature. Once the adventures are over, however, she is equally happy settling down and enjoying a cuddle on someone’s lap.
She currently lives around many cats. Although she does not try to harm them, she enjoys chasing them for fun, and the cats do not appreciate the game! For this reason, Gabi is looking for a home without cats.
Gabi is spayed, vaccinated and negative on tests.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
