Meet Gordi
Gordi has the most fantastic ears! He was found at a very young age with his four siblings abandoned on the street. They were all taken to safety and are now doing well.
Gordi survived being hit by two cars before the litter was taken to safety. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured but his tail is now a bit shorter than the others. Sadly Gordi has also experienced a home but after a month was returned.
He is a happy dog and has a bit of a mischievious nature. He’s a typical puppy and loves to play and torment his siblings. He really likes people and loves to get cuddles and hugs. He’s been fine with the children he’s met, so an all round lovely boy.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
Gordi tested positive for heartworm on routine testing and is currently under treatment. They will be able to travel to the UK after two negative heartworm control tests have been achieved and a scan to check no lasting damage.
Heartworm is fairly common in Serbia and many dogs recover in full if caught early enough and dogs can lead full and normal lives. Heartworm is not generally well known in the UK but there are plenty of articles online and a useful video on our YouTube channel.
