Meet Nela
This beautiful German Shepherd female was found tied to a car in the pouring rain. She had been taken from the street with the sole purpose of making money from her puppies! Nela was taken to safety and promptly spayed so that she could never end up in that situation again. Nela is safe in pension thanks to her lovely sponsors.
Nela is a lovely natured dog, great with people, and gets long nicely with the other dogs in the pension. She is a smart cookie, good on a lead and knows some comands. Nela is barky around cats and will chase so she can't be homed with cats. She was good when she met the pension owners grandchild.
Nela is vaccinated and spayed.
Nela has tested positive on a routine screening test for Anaplasmosis. This is a fairly common tick- borne disease prevalent in countries such as the Balkans. It is treated with a course of 30 days of antibiotics, which is sufficient according to vet advice received. Nela does not show any symptoms of Anaplasmosis and has received her 30 day course of treatment. This is a useful information sheet on Anaplasmosis. Please contact the team if you have any questions.
All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021).
