Meet Silver
Silver appeared on the street next to a busy road in the summer of 2025. She was very fearful of people and it took months before she started trusting our rescuers so they could catch her and spay her.
So that she did not meet her fate in traffic after recovering from her spay, she was returned to a safer location, but she managed to find her way back and has been in foster care with a friend of her rescuer ever since.
She gets along well with all dogs and loves to play with them. At first, she can be a little shy with unknown people, but after a while she comes over to cuddle, she just needs to work them out first! She really is a beautiful little lady who is adapting to life in a home incredibly well. Silver isn’t currently tested around cats or children.
Our dogs are tested for the following conditions as part of our standard testing procedure - Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and Brucellosis (Since 11th June 2021).
Silver has tested positive on a routine screening test for anaplasmosis, this is a fairly common tick-borne disease prevalent in countries such as the Balkans. It is treated with a course of 30 days of antibiotics which is sufficient according to vet advice received. She does not show any symptoms of Anaplasmosis and is receiving her 30 day treatment. This is a useful information sheet on anaplasmosis.
